Tratamiento Ionitox

Thermochemical Treatments
in Vacuum furnaces

IONITOX®

OBJECTIVE
To harden the surface maintaining a tough core and to increase the corrosion resistance.

The IONIT-OX treatment consists of a combination of:
Gas Nitrocarburizing + Plasma nitriding + Post-Oxidation

APLICATIONS

  • Minimum distortion.
  • High resistance to erosion.
  • High resistance to fatigue.
  • High corrosion resistance, over 240 hours in salt spray fog testing according to DIN 500021 SS.

TYPES OF PARTS

  • Mechanical assemblies.
  • Spherical joint.
  • Drive shafts.
  • Pistons.

IONIC NITRIDING OR PLASMA NITRIDING

OBJECTIVE
To keep a tough core hardening the surface.

PROCESS
This process is based on the effect that is produced at low pressure, when the gases fed into a chamber are made conductors and inside it is created a difference in electric potential between two electrodes. This technology can only be applied in vacuum furnaces, with chambers in which the parts are placed on a bracket that is negatively charged while the case of the furnace is positively charged.

ADVANTAGES

  • Using parameter control, layers appropriate to each type of material and use are obtained.
  • The potential to avoid white layer.

USES

  • Minimal deformation.
  • Excellent mechanical properties.
  • Increased hardness and tenacity.
  • Good strength against wear and abrasion.
  • Increased strength against corrosion.
  • Great increase in strength against fatigue.

TYPES OF PARTS

  • Molds.
  • Tools.
  • Machinery components: Worm drives, guides.
  • Cogwheels.

NITRIDING / GAS NITROCARBURIZING

OBJECTIVE
To keep a tough core hardening the surface.

PROCESS
These processes are carried out in vacuum furnaces where a fixed blend of gases is injected at low pressure, allowing the obtention of custom layers.

USES

  • Minimal deformation.
  • Excellent mechanical properties.
  • Increased hardness.
  • Good strength against wear and abrasion.
  • Increased strength against corrosion.
  • Great increase in strength against fatigue.
  • Better dimensional stability than with hardening.

TYPES OF PARTS

  • Pieces with complicated geometries.
  • Molds.
  • Axels.
  • Pistons.
  • Tools.
