Vacuum and High Vacuum
Heat Treatments

QUENCHING AND TEMPERING

OBJECTIVE
To harden the part.

EQUIPMENT

  • Class 2 equipment in accordance with AMS 2750 D from 150ºc to 1250ºc.
  • The potential for high vacuum: 5 x 10-5 mbar.
  • Heating by radiation to up to 1250ºc.
  • Cooling, depending on the material, in oil, vacuum or with nitrogen with up to 15 bar overpressure.

USES

  • Treatment of finished pieces.
  • Increased hardness.

SOLUTION HEAT TREATMENTS

PROCESS

There are many new micro fusion technologies for special alloys and superalloys that are starting to be used in industry, mainly in aeronautics.
With all pieces made using the system of filling molds with melted material, it is necesasary to carry out the solubilization of the pieces afterwards, which improves their mechanical properties.

USES

  • Increased hardness.
  • Homogenized structures.

  • Annealed
  • Hyperquenching
  • Precipitation and solution
  • Stress relieving
  • Normalised condition

SUBCERO

PROCESS

Subjecting the parts to temperaturas between -70 and -150ºC, the retained austenite in quenching is transformed into martensite, obtaining the following advantages.

USES

  • Increased hardness.
  • Homogeneously increased volume of the parts.
  • Increased magnetic properties.
  • Greater dimensional stability of the parts.
